Having previously worked with the client for the first two soup stores, the main design elements that had to be present in Amzei location were pretty easy to identify - Soup Up! is charactarized by the bold yellow in contrast with black, by the menu wall where actual soup pots display the soups of the day and the wood linking everything together. This project’s challenge was the restricted budget mixed with a tight deadline. The store front was already cladded in Alucobond and no substantial changes were to be made to the existing store state. The solution was to use the bold yellow of the brand to mark the entrance and visually separate it from its neighbourghs. The big window frames the small seating area and also works as an advertising space. Hand drawn sketches add a more personal look outside, but also inside with the chalk painted walls. The functional aspect is solved by creating a storage area for the soup buckets in the back, while a continuous bar front with fitted bain maries and a wheeled unit for acces, display all of the different food assortiments. The design of the store signage started from the work of a graphic designer who also created the logo, but for the implementation of the project I’ve liaised with the furniture and signage suppliers.
